Where to Eat in Amman
AlQuds Restaurant★★★★Complex No 8, King Al Hussein St 8, Amman, JordanCame here for the National Jordanian dish, Mansaf. I opted for the Chicken Mansaf. From wikipedia: "Mansaf is a traditional Arab dish made of lamb cooked in a sauce of fermented dried yogurt and served with rice or bulgur. It is a popular dish eaten throughout the Levant. It is considered the national dish of Jordan, and can also be found in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Syria. "
The chicken and the rice was flavorful. It looked a little dry, but tasted pretty good once you start eating it. We also ordered the vermicelli soup, which my wife loved. It has a very meaty broth taste to it. Their salads are good and hummus with pita is good as well. Price is reasonable for Jordan. Also, try the famous knafeh from Habiba Sweets next door.
