From the Airport
Transport. From Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG) you can take the Shanghai Maglev train to Longyang Road (about 8 minutes, ¥50) and transfer to Metro Line 2 to reach the city centre in roughly 45 minutes total, or board Metro Line 2 directly from the airport (≈¥30, 50 minutes). Airport shuttle bus routes (e.g., Bus 1, 2, 4) also run to major hotels and railway stations, costing ¥20‑¥30 and taking 60‑90 minutes. DiDi, China’s leading rideshare app, operates at the airport alongside regular taxis, which start at ¥14 for the first 3 km.
Once You're There
Transport. Shanghai’s metro system, with 18 lines covering the city, is the most efficient way to travel, offering frequent service and clear English signage; the downtown area around The Bund and People's Square is very walkable.
