Getting Around Naples

From the Airport

Transport. From Napoli Capodichino Airport you can take the Alibus shuttle (route “Alibus”) which runs every 20‑30 minutes to Piazza Garibaldi and the central train station; the ride is about 15‑20 minutes and costs €5. A regular city bus (Curreri Viaggi line 5) also connects the airport to the city centre on a similar schedule. Uber operates in Naples and local taxi apps such as Free Now are widely used for door‑to‑door rides.

Once You're There

Transport. Naples has a functional metro system – Line 1 (the “Metro Napoli”) and Line 2 (suburban rail) – plus a historic funicular and a modern tram line (Tram 2) that serve the historic centre and waterfront. The historic centre is very walkable, though streets are narrow and often busy, so many visitors use Uber or local taxi apps for longer trips or when carrying luggage. Renting a car is generally not recommended for city sightseeing because of heavy traffic, limited parking and extensive ZTL (limited‑traffic) zones.
